Maliau Basin conversation Area is one of Malaysia’s finest remaining wilderness areas. Bounded by formidable escarpment reaching over 1,675 metres above sea level, the almost circular Basin encompasses 390 km of pristine forest, a virtually self-contained ecosystem, never permanently inhabited and with large areas still remaining to be explored and document.

Day 1
Pickup from hotel and travel for about 2 hours’ drive to Keningau Town through Crocker Range. Arrive at Keningau town, collect your packed lunch for consumption alongthe journey. Continue journey to Maliau Basin, part of the road are gravel and bumpy. Arrive at Maliau Basin Security Gate for Registration. Thereafter, visit Shell Maliau Basin Reception and Information Building, take a 20 minutes rest and get the overall information and understanding of Maliau Basin – “Sabah's Lost World”. Proceed to Maliau Basin Studies Center (MBSC) for about 1 hour and 30 minutes journey. Register and check in. Free at your own leisure. Dinner dining hall. After dinner, video presentation brief introduction to Maliau Basin Conservation Area. Night Walk in search of nocturnal wildlife. (If weather permits). Return to Lodge and Overnight at Maliau Basin Studies Centre.

Day 2:
Early morning walk for wildlife observation or bird watching. (Optional). Breakfast and visit Maliau Sky Bridge and explore the Discovery Nature Trail. Thereafter, to visit the Maliau Nature Gallery. Lunch rest and free at leisure. Proceed to Agathis Camp for about 45 minutes to 1 hour drive. Arrive at Agathis Camp and trek around Agathis Nature Trail (about 700m to 1km) or you could swim at the Agathis River. Freshen up / Rest. Dinner at Dining Hall. Night Walk in search of nocturnal wildlife. (If weather permits). Return to Lodge and Overnight at Maliau Basin Studies Centre.

Day 3
Breakfast and check out. Visit 33m high Maliau Rim Observation Tower then onwards transfer to Keningau Town. Arrive Keningau Town. Simple lunch at a local restaurant and proceed journey to Kota Kinabalu. Transfer back to hotel.

Note:
- Rate per person based on join-in tour (shared guide & vehicle), (Private Tour upon Request).
- Reservations are subject to room availability.
- In the mountainous region the weather can change without warning from bright sunshine to mist and cloud to torrential downpour. The nights are cold and temperatures can drop to below freezing. Bring enough warm clothing with you and pack them in plastic bags to keep them dry.
- It is recommended to bring a waterproof bag for your personal items such as passport, cell phone and camera.
- Recommend to book: 1 month in advance or at least 3 days in advance.
- Cancellation & Refund Policy: No refund for any cancellation made within 1 day from the tour date.
Child Policy:
- Child rate applies for children between 3- 11 years old. Infant below 3 years old is FOC.
Surcharges for pick up & drop off from Outskirt Hotel
(Kinarut / 1 Borneo / Rasa Ria / Karambunai)- Additional charges of MYR30 per pax are chargeable for outskirt hotels. Outskirt charges applicable for hotels outside of Kota Kinabalu city area & 1Borneo Area.
